Episode 41: The End of an Era with Tristan & Lauren
This marks the end of an era as we share our final episode of ALL THE F*CK IN. Tune in to hear us talk about how we made the bittersweet decision to bring the podcast to a conclusion, where we’re each redirecting our creative energies, and what we learned from this journey together.
Episode 40: Deep & Fierce Love with Michelle C. Johnson & Tema Okun
Drum roll, please… we are so excited to share this inspiring conversation with Michelle Cassandra Johnson and Tema Okun. From the very beginning of this podcast, we’ve named Michelle’s work throughout and, of course, our longtime listeners will also recall our early interview with Michelle on episode 5 (linked below). Since that initial conversation, we’ve dreamt of having Michelle back on with her dear friend and colleague, Tema Okun.
Episode 39: Inclusion Is a Journey, Not a Goal with Abbiola Ballah
Today’s convo with Abbiola Ballah (she/her) is E V E R Y T H I N G. She’s a true bridge-builder and translator in every sense of the word. And her inclusive action consulting business’s tagline, “Be part of the solution,” says it all.
An Update from Tristan and Lauren
Just a quick update from Tristan and Lauren about when new episodes are coming your way and how we can support you in the meantime.
Episode 38: Identity, Authenticity, & Growth with Tristan Katz [A Transcend Your Dichotomy Crossover]
We’ve got another Transcend Your Dichotomy crossover episode for you this week, this time featuring Tristan in conversation with Brooke back in early 2022!
Episode 37: Self-Trust & The Evolution of Work with Lauren Roberts [A Transcend Your Dichotomy Crossover]
While Lauren settles into her new apartment and Tristan completes their cross-country road trip, we’re bringing you special crossover episodes we were part of on our dear friend Brooke Monaghan’s podcast Transcend Your Dichotomy! This week’s features a conversation Lauren and Brooke had back in the spring of 2022, when Lauren was transitioning her anticapitalist course and community TAKE UP SPACE to a new, evergreen model for the first time.
Episode 36: People-Centered Politics with Denver City Council Candidate Shannon Hoffman
We’re thrilled to share this conversation Shannon Hoffman (she/her), educator, collaborator, activator, and now a candidate for Denver City Council!
Episode 35: Redistributing Wealth & Sharing Power with Melissa Shah
In this conversation with Melissa Shah (she/her), we discuss Melissa and Tristan’s experience in being featured on the cover of a popular yoga magazine—the complexities, the celebrations, and the challenges, exploring themes of tokenization, performative activism, recognizing harm when it’s happening, uplifting community, and more.
Episode 34: Uplifting Community with Susanna Barkataki
We were so honored to be joined by Susanna Barkataki (she/her) for this beautiful conversation, winding through a variety of topics relating to Susanna’s work, her personal path and practice, and so much more. If you’re in the yoga world in any way, you’re likely already familiar with Susanna and her important role and leadership in the larger community as she seeks to challenge dominant paradigms, uplift South Asian teachers and practitioners, and work across difference to truly embody and model what it means to be a co-conspirator.
Episode 33: RUNNING AN Antiracist Business with Trudi Lebron
We LOVED chatting with Trudi Lebron about how to run an antiracist business! Even if you’re not a business owner, there are so many great lessons to take away from this episode for practicing antiracism in your day-to-day life. Tune in to hear us talk about Trudi’s approach to supporting folks as an equity-centered coach and consultant, sneaky ways that white supremacy is still showing up for Tristan and Lauren in their work and collaborations, the journey Trudi went out from becoming a parent at 16 years old to pursuing graduate degrees to writing her book, The Antiracist Business Book, and so much more!
Episode 32: WE’RE BACK…WITH STICKERS! (SEASON 3 PREMIERE)
We’re back for Season 3, friends. Today, Tristan (they/them) and Lauren (she/her) share what they’ve been up to since March and give you the inside scoop on our very first official merch: STICKERS!!! To get your ALL THE F*CK IN sticker, join us on Patreon between June 15-30, 2022 at the $5 level or above and we’ll pop one in the mail to you! Tune in to hear us talk about how Tristan is making time to focus on their book project, how we can stay in the practice of unlearning oppressive systems, expanding beyond your “niche” audience, Lauren’s process of building an online course and community, and more!
Episode 31: Abolition, Accountability, & New Growth with Tristan & Lauren
In our season 2 finale (!), Tristan (they/them) and Lauren (she/her) share updates about their lives, work, and mental health; revisit past episodes to offer context and clarity; and practice accountability for ourselves and conversations we’ve had on the podcast.
Episode 30: Trusting the Process with Janesa Velazquez
This episode was a true full-circle moment (with some tears, too!). We met Janesa Velazquez (she/her) back in 2020, right as she was planting the seeds for what became her online yoga space, Little House of Yoga. In this conversation, we got to hear about her journey of being a young parent, healing, teaching herself web design, and now co-creating Ambry Yoga & Meditation, a brick-and-mortar studio coming this spring to Long Island.
As a yoga guide, Janesa lovingly supports practitioners in getting reacquainted with the best parts of themselves. She believes that our own peace and liberation is inherently interconnected with that of all beings — that to care for others is to care for ourselves, and tending to our own care extrapolates out into the world.
Episode 29: The Four Pivots with Shawn Ginwright
We are so honored to share this conversation with Dr. Shawn Ginwright (he/him), in celebration of his new book, The Four Pivots : Reimagining Justice, Reimagining Ourselves. Shawn is an author, professor, and an activist who brings a unique lens to the conversation about social change, dismantling oppression, and cultivating new ways of being. Shawn’s book, which we discuss in detail in this episode, is one of possibility, inviting us into the practice of being accountable to ourselves while we work together to co-create a new way of being.
Episode 28: Confronting Cult-y Sh*t with Tristan, Lauren, & special guest Tatum Fjerstad
This is a vulnerable episode for us. Tristan and Lauren have felt a pull to speak frankly about coercive, cult-y dynamics in the coaching, wellness, and "self-improvement" industries (and beyond), especially since mind control tactics commonly deployed in these spaces not only cause incredible harm, but contribute to upholding capitalism, white supremacy, cis-hetero-patriarchy, and other toxic systems. Our friend Tatum Fjerstad (she/her) joined us for this nuanced conversation, and was so generous with sharing about her recovery from spiritual abuse, multi-level marketing companies (MLMs), and how, in her words, "We are all capable of harm and we are all capable of being harmed."
Episode 27: Re-imagining Everything with Kelley Nicole Palmer
Kelley Nicole Palmer (she/her) is a creative, a space holder, and an advocate. She brings wisdom, fire, heart, and authenticity to this conversation in a way that is sure to inspire. She gets real. In a dominant culture that teaches so many of us to stay small, to compartmentalize, and to keep our emotional experiences to ourselves, Kelley’s realness is an invitation to subvert the systems that tell us who we are so that we can discover our own innate truths. The alternate title to this episode would have probably been “Let’s be on some f*ck it with KNP!”
Episode 26: Let the Learning Be Messy with Michelle Ward
We had a blast chatting with Michelle Ward (she/her), the founder and CEO of 90 Day Business Launch who's been in the creative entrepreneur game since, as she describes it, "dinosaurs roamed the internet" back in 2008. Lauren stumbled across Michelle's blog as a recent college grad in 2010, and followed along until finally joining one of Michelle's programs nine years later (!) to officially launch her own coaching business. This conversation was a true full-circle moment, and we're excited to share it with you!
Episode 25: In Service of the Moment with Anjali Rao
If you’ve ever wondered about the connection between yoga and social justice, and if you’ve ever wondered how the teachings of yoga invite us into the work of activism, tuning into this conversation with Anjali Rao (she/her) is a must. Anjali is a yoga educator and social justice activist. She’s also a cancer survivor who began to connect with the practices of yoga in the aftermath of her cancer diagnosis.
Episode 24: Active Peace & Defiant Joy with Reggie Hubbard
We came away from this chat with Reggie Hubbard feeling ON F*CKING FIRE, friends. Reggie (he/him) is a self-described committed yogi, activist, recovering political operative, intersectional spiritualist, and seeker of love and justice for all. As the creator of Active Peace Yoga, Reggie's on a mission to make the practice of yoga and living the yogic lifestyle more accessible to all - regardless of race, gender, body type, or practice level - to form peace of mind and general wellbeing as a foundation, not as an afterthought.
Episode 23: Support us on Patreon!
We’re so excited to share news about our new Patreon community! And in this short conversation between Tristan (they/them) and Lauren (she/her) we do a brief check in and then talk about what our listeners can expect from our Patreon offerings. We’d really appreciate your support—please join us!
